Ex-Viking RB Albert Young joins Pitt coaching staff

The University of Pitt added former Vikings running back Albert Young to their coaching staff, Young told Sporting Sota.

Young, 27, will serve an assistant strength and conditioning coach. He officially started on Jan. 14.

The Vikings signed Young as an undrafted free-agent out of Iowa in 2008 and spent his first year on their practice squad. He was signed to the team’s active roster prior to the 2009 season and played through the 2010 season.

Young was an assistant coach for the University of Colorado Buffaloes football team in 2012.
