The Minnesota Twins activated starting pitcher Samuel Deduno and joined Triple-A Rochester Red Wings, the team announced Sunday.

Deduno had been at extended spring training after suffering a groin injury while pitching the Dominican Republic to the championship at the World Baseball Classic.

Minnesota also released Red Wings outfielder Brandon Boggs in a corresponding move to make room for Deduno. Boggs was hitting just .184 with 25 strikeouts in 76 at-bats.

Aaron Hicks’ first home run

The fan who caught Hicks’ home run ball Saturday gladly gave it back on one condition: a signed ball from Joe Mauer in return. Mauer agreed and signed two.
