Wolves Summer League Roster Released

There are some familiar names that you might recognize on the Timberwolves’ Summer League roster.

First-round draft picks, Shabazz Muhammad and Gorgui Dieng are the brand new stars to the Wolves this summer, but there is also some strong pedigree on the team. Mychel Thompson (who is the son of former NBA star Mychal and brother of current NBA star Klay) and Luke Sikma (who is son of former NBA center and current Wolves assistant Jack.) And the Wolves are bringing back their former 2012 second-round draft pick Robbie Humme.

But the Wolves also have some players with NBA experience behind them. They include Solomon Jones and he has seven years behind him, Chris Johnson who has three years, Othyus Jeffers has two years and Thompson has the least with one year. Johnson is the only player on the roster who has playing experience with Minnesota. The 6’11 center averaged 3.9 points in 30 games for the Wolves in 2012-13.

David Adelman and Shawn Respert will coach the Wolves’ Summer League team. Practices run from Wednesday to Friday in the Lifetime Fitness Training Center at Target Center before the team leaves for Las Vegas.

The Timberwolves squad will compete in three preliminary-round games between July 13 and July 16 in Las Vegas before being seeded for the inaugural Summer League championship, which concludes July 22.
