Spanning Minnesota: Coach Zimmer, Pelfrey and Koivu

facebooktwitterreddit

This is Sporting Sota and we cover all of the wonderful sports that go down in our beautiful state of Minnesota. While we take it all, there are great sites across the Fansided network that are dedicated to each specific team. So I thought, that’s what that noise was, we might as well bring those sites to you with the Spanning Minnesota.

EDITOR’S NOTE: If I think of a better name than Spanning Sota, I am open to change. If you have an idea, drop a comment or tweet, @SportingSota.

First up, The Viking Age who, of course, cover the Minnesota Vikings:

Coach Mike Zimmer was talking and some folks think he was taking a shot at our neighbors to the east, the Green Bay Packers. Let’s just say that Coach Zim doesn’t exactly believe in ping-pong. Read more on the potential riff between Wisconsin and the leader of the purple here.

Next, a site near and dear to my heart, Puckett’s Pond, the Minnesota Twins site on Fansided:

Mike Pelfrey pitched a doozy of a game for the Twins today. Seriously, one run on four hits in eight innings in a Twins victory is fantastic. Pond Staff Writer Andrew Dill says that Pelfrey is proving his worth to the Twins and I don’t think anyone can argue.  The article can be found right here.

Third, your home for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Dunking With Wolves:

This article has a bunch of notes, but it talks a lot about the new practice facility that the Wolves and Lynx opened up yesterday. Read it all right here.

Last, but not least, Gone Puck Wild, covering the NHL’s Minnesota Wild:

The Wild face some interesting cap issues this offseason. Derek Felska breaks down just what the value of captain Mikko Koivu. If you want to know what his value is, check it out here.
