Minnesota Timberwolves Win First Summer League Game
The Timberwolves kicked off Summer League action out in Sin City on Friday and I learned something, you, apparently, can’t foul out of a Summer League game. How did I learn this, you ask? Well, Karl-Anthony Towns had nine fouls and Adreian Payne had eight.
Towns was one foul away from a double-double, I don’t think it works that way, by scoring 12 points in the contest. He also grabbed three rebounds and dished out four assists.
While Kitty KAT started, fellow draft pick Tyus Jones came off the bench. Jones grabbed two boards and scored no points in his first piece of Summer League action.
Zach LaVine was tearing it up for the Wolves. Someone on Twitter, I honestly can’t remember and I can’t seem to find it (blame the Diet Coke), said there is always someone on every Summer League team that doesn’t belong and on the Wolves it is LaVine. That’s a good thing.
LaVine went for 24 points and six rebounds. He also threw down a couple times. See this Vine for complete confirmation of the statement.

The Wolves had the pleasure of taking on the Los Angeles Lakers and the current Minnesota team beat the former Minnesota team, 81-68. The win powered by a huge fourth quarter where the Wolves outscored the Lakers 25-12.
The player of note for the Lakers was Julius Randle who scored 11 points and grabbed a board. The Lakers were lead in points by a guy named Jordan Clarkson whom scored 23 points.
