Minnesota Vikings: Norv Turner Is Awesome & Right About Teddy Bridgewater

facebooktwitterreddit

Norv Turner just said what most Minnesota Vikings had been thinking. Turner praised quarterback Teddy Bridgewater while dismissing quarterback rankings that you may see across your television and the internet.

The big hub-bub about this came last week when Ron Jaworski, of being on ESPN fame, started to reveal his QB rankings. It didn’t take long for Jaws to announce Bridgewater’s name since he ranked the Vikings’ starter at 27th in the league.

Yeah, he seriously did that.

Jaworski ranked Bridgewater three spots below Matt Cassel… I used to think Jaws wasn’t a horrible analysis on ESPN.

The question of rankings brought about Offensive Coordinator Turner to say that Bridgewater is a ‘top-flight’ quarterback which is big praise from an organization that sent a plane full of players down south to bring back a certain gunslinger named Brett Favre. That’s what a ‘top-flight’ QB is to the Vikings and to have Teddy in that category is a pretty big deal.

Turner went on to say things like the only evaluation that matters is the Vikings’ own evaluation and these rankings don’t matter which they don’t.

Here’s a dirty little media secret: the NFL rankings come out around the MLB All-Star Game for a reason. A lot of people have stopped caring about baseball, they crave football and ESPN doesn’t like showing an hour’s worth of baseball highlights with sporadic soccer clips thrown in for some flavor.

I don’t know much, but I do know a couple things. One, this country loves it’s football and well suck down anything mentioning the old pigskin. Two, Norv Turner is an awesome dude. Three, Teddy Bridgewater is way better than the 27th best QB in the NFL.
