Once upon a time, there was an NFL football team that included an elite defense, a strong running game led by an All-Pro running back, and a game-managing second-year quarterback.

Of course, I’m talking about the 2013 Seattle Seahawks.

Do you notice any similarities between that Seahawks team and the 2015 Minnesota Vikings?

Indeed, the 2015 version of the Vikings appears to be on the same track to success as that 2013 Seahawks team. The blueprint is awfully similar, that’s for sure.

This Sunday’s clash between the 8-3 Vikings and 6-5 Seahawks could represent somewhat of a passing of the torch among NFC powerhouses, as the Vikings appear poised to take that next step in the near-future. Meanwhile, despite winning their last two games, Seattle has underwhelmed thus far this season, and some believe this is the beginning of their fall.

Regardless of the passing of the torch idea, Sunday’s game is an important one for both teams as it will have playoff implications for both sides.
