Dubnyk dazzles in the Minnesota Wild’s victory over the Dallas Stars.

Devan Dubnyk showed on Saturday night in Texas while he is the Minnesota Wild’s lone All-Star. Dubnyk and the Wild were facing off against the Western Conference’s best team in the Stars and Dubnyk didn’t let in a goal until just over three minutes left in the game, despite  being peppered throughout the night in a 2-1 Wild victory.

Dubnyk had a total of 32 saves in the game including a highlight real save that was featured in SportsCenter’s Top Ten.

The Wild knocked in their two goals in the second period. A little over three minutes into the period, Ryan Carter scored his fourth goal of the season to make it a 1-0 game. Just past the 11 minute mark, Thomas Vanek found the back of the net with goal number 13 of the season for him. That 2-0 lead lasted for over a period, but not quite the whole game, because, of course, the two-goal lead is the worst lead in hockey.

Jamie Benn notched a power play goal with less than four minutes to play to cut the Wild lead to one. The goal was number 25 on the season for Benn. Benn tried to add another one to his season total with less than a minute left, but was stopped by the powerful Dubnyk.

Also, former Golden Gopher defenseman Mike Reilly made his NHL debut on Saturday night for the his hometown team Wild. Congrats, Mike! Welcome to the big leagues, kid!
