We all know football is a team sport, but we would be foolish to think that Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford won’t have a little extra ‘juice’ this Sunday.

The Minnesota Vikings (5-0) versus the Philadelphia Eagles (3-2)  is shaping up to be the game of the week. Granted the Eagles have struggled as of late, losing two in a row, but there is still plenty of intrigue heading into the weekend.

The Eagles abandoned Sam Bradford ten days before the season was set to begin. Replacing him with their No. 2 overall pick, Carson Wentz. As humble as Bradford might be, you know there has to be some personal animosity directed towards his former team.

Bradford finished 2015 on fire, so his hot start to 2016 should have been no surprise. Since Week 14 of last season Bradford’s statistics are as follows.

Throw in a QB rating around 100, and you have great production coming from that position. Why would any team want to throw that away? The Eagles seemed ready to quit before the season even began.

Carson Wentz got off to a blazing start, but he has come back to NFL rookie-reality. In Week 6, the Washington Redskins figured out the braking system to the ‘Wentz wagon.’ Disguising coverage, and creative blitz packages confused the rookie. Coach Zim is a defensive mastermind, and he is getting a little extra time to prepare due to the bye…

Carson Wentz should be worried.

Minnesota’s 2016 defense is on pace to be one of the best in recent memory, even better than the 15′ Broncos. It is going to be a long day for the former NDSU Bison star.

I’m predicting it will be a learning opportunity for Carson. The Philly QB will have his first chance to experience what being blown out at home feels like. The Vikings are confident, and coming off a week of rest. Bradford’s teammates will rally around him, it will be the Vikings most dominating performance so far.

There is no better revenge than embarrassing your former squad. Brett Favre did it to the Packers in a Vikings uniform, now it’s Sam’s turn.
