The Minnesota Vikings posted a video of quarterback Teddy Bridgewater throwing passes at organized team activities on Tuesday.

He’s ba-ack! Teddy Bridgewater is back on the field for the Minnesota Vikings. The proof is in the slow-motion video that the Vikings posted to their website on Tuesday afternoon.

It made Twitter explode and with good reason. No one was expecting to see Bridgewater on the field anytime soon; nonetheless did anyone expect the Vikings themselves to post it on their own website. The workouts on Tuesday were closed to the media, but Wednesday’s practice will be open.

Bridgewater went down with a dislocated knee and torn ACL on August 30, but was on that same exact field on Tuesday practicing. Vikings.com reports that Bridgewater was wearing a brace on his left knee and a big smile.

The appearance of Bridgewater at practice opens up a lot of questions for the Vikings. The main question being: will Bridgewater be able to be of service already sometime in the 2017 season?

It was feared at one time that Bridgewater may never be the same simply physically after the injury nonetheless play football less than a year after the injury.

Sam Bradford is widely expected to be the starter for the Vikings in 2017 and a slow-motion video of Bridgewater shouldn’t change that fact. It might change a potential extension for Bradford, though.

Before the injury, Bridgewater was setting himself up to be the Vikings franchise quarterback. After the way Bradford played in 2017, he could be seen as fitting to be the franchise QB. The old saying is that if you have two quarterbacks you actually have none, but the Vikings have a much more nuanced situation than that.

It is hard to know when Bridgewater will play again or if he will play again with the Vikings, but what we do know is that Bridgewater’s recovery is going much faster than expected. It’s really interesting that the Vikings put it out there themselves, partially creating a QB controversy all by themselves.

Minnesota also has Case Keenum and Tyler Heinicke fighting to make the roster as backup QBs.
