Jeff Teague knows the Minnesota Timberwolves better than you’d think.

With all the new additions to the Minnesota Timberwolves, the question has been asked many times how the chemistry will be between all the players. Coach Tom Thibodeau has pointed to the team’s upcoming trip to China as a great team building event, but newly signed Jeff Teague is already well in the know about the Timberwolves.

How does a guy that just officially signed with the Wolves on Monday know a whole lot about his new team? Because, according to a tweet from Jerry Zgoda of the Star Tribune, the Timberwolves have been Teague’s team of choice in the NBA 2K video game franchise.

Teague points to the reasoning behind that being the presence of Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins being on the 2K roster. The initial roster on the game also has Zach LaVine, a vastly overrated Kris Dunn in the starting lineup and Kevin Garnett coming off of the bench. The Wolves team on NBA 2K17 is lit.

Still, though, as a professional athlete, how do you not play as yourself? That’s every video game player’s dream. As much fun as it is to create yourself in the game, it’d be so much cooler to hear Kevin Harlan and crew actually saying real things about you.

Plus, it’s a video game. Even a guy like Teague in a video game can be averaging about 40 points with 14 assists and 10 rebounds per game. How do you not ball as yourself, win a lot of MVP Awards and championships and get a lot virtual money? That’s what I would do.

Also, personally, I find myself playing as the 2003-04 Timberwolves more than the actual current team. Any chance to have a team of Mark Madsen, Wally Szczerbiak and Fred Hoiberg on the court together is a chance you need to take.

We all realize it’s supposed to be a throwaway kind of comment from Teague, but it’s still a great quote. The good news is that with Teague, Jimmy Butler, Jamal Crawford and Taj Gibson in the fold, the real life Timberwolves might just be putting up video game numbers in the 2017-18 season.
