Two days ago there was talk among NFL player agents that quarterback Matt Cassel was likely Minnesota bound.
It came to fruition.
Cassel agreed to terms on a deal with the Vikings on Thursday, according to several reports.
There is some confusion as to Cassel’s role in Minnesota.
Last week the team said a veteran quarterback would be brought in to back up starting quarterback Christian Ponder. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Cassel is expected to compete to start.
Tom Pelissero of 1500 ESPN speculates that Cassel will earn somewhere around $3 million a year.
