Joe Mauer is banking it.

The Minnesota Twins catcher is ranked No. 20 on Sports Illustrated’s Fortunate 50, a list and ranking of professional athletes in the U.S. based on earnings for 2013. The findings consist solely of salary, winnings, bonuses and endorsements.

No other professional sports athlete in Minnesota is earning more than Mauer this year.

Mauer has a $23 million salary and has endorsements for an additional $2 million, meaning he is earning a grand total of $25 million for 2013. According to the report, he has endorsement deals with Nike, Rawlings, Sony, Gatorade and several companies in Minnesota.

Surprisingly, Mauer dropped eight spots from last season, where he was ranked No. 12.
