It looks like Triple-A Rochester Red Wings starting pitcher PJ Walters will replace Minnesota Twins Opening Day starter Vance Worley in the starting rotation.
Walters told Jim Mandelaro of the Democrat and Chronicle that he is being promoted to the Twins and will start this weekend.
The 28-year-old made 12 starts last season for Minnesota and had an ERA of 5.69. Walters is 4-2 and has an ERA of 3.31 in nine starts for the Red Wings this season.
Worley got knocked around for eight runs in 3.2 innings against the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday and was immediately demoted to Rochester following the game.
