NFL Fines Ndamukong Suh Record $100,000 For Hit On John Sullivan
By Sarita Kelly
The NFL on Tuesday had announced a $100,000 fine it levied on Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh for his illegal hit on Vikings center John Sullivan.
The $100,000 fine — first reported by Fox Sports — is among the largest in NFL history. But Suh is a repeat offender with a history of dirty play so the fine went higher than usual.
It was said that the notorious defensive tackle would not be suspended for his low block during a second-quarter interception return. Sullivan was already out of the play and very unlikely to catch lineback DeAndre Levy before Levy could take his interception to the end zone.
Sullivan accepted an apology Sunday from Suh but the hit knocked Sullivan from the game briefly. The Vikings center is expected to practice this week, despite suffering a bruised knee on the play.
