The Vikings may not be having the best month ever but rookie kick returner Cordarrelle Patterson is. He was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Month, NFL spokesman Randall Liu announced Thursday on Twitter.
The first-round draft choice from Tennessee returned 12 kickoffs for an NFC-leading 33.8-yard average. But his most impressive feat to date was his return kick for 105 yards and a touchdown against the Bears earlier this season. Patterson has also caught six passes for 82 yards.
