Minnesota Vikings Christian Ponder Cleared to Play, but Will He Start Sunday?
By Sarita Kelly
Minnesota Vikings Quarterback Christian Ponder has a clean bill of health and according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Ponder has been cleared to play. He was a limited participant at Wednesday’s Practice.
But it is looking like Matt Cassel will be the probable starter in this Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers. Coach Leslie Frazier has said for the past two weeks that when Ponder is healthy enough to return, he would start.
But it is starting to look like Frazier might have to take back his words.
Cassel practiced with the Vikings’ first-team offense Wednesday; Frazier has said that they will take their time before making announcement about who will start. They also waited until Friday to announce a decision before their Week 4 game against the Steelers in London.
