According to Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish, the Twins have reached a deal with right-hander Ricky Nolasco. There’s no word yet on the terms of a contract.

The Twins have been ranked in the bottom five in rotation earned run average in each of the past three seasons and had a 4.55 staff ERA in 2013, which ranked 29th out of the 30 major league teams.

Nolasco is just what the Twins need right now. He registered a steady 3.70 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 165/46 K/BB ratio in 199 1/3 innings this past season between the Marlins and Dodgers. They were the only big league club to finish with fewer than 1,000 total strikeouts.

And if you need any further proof that Nolasco will become a Twin, Trevor Plouffe just tweeted, “Welcome to the Twins @RNolasco47! You’re going to love MN” and Nolasco changed his Twitter picture to the Twins logo.
