Top 6 Stat-Stuffing Seasons in Vikings History

#3: 2003 Randy Moss
Daunte Culpepper and Randy Moss invented a new term — “da bomb”. It meant no matter what you’re doing or where you are, just chuck the darn ball as far as possible and let Randy go get it. And he usually did. Moss’s breakneck speed, long frame and soft hands were almost indefensible. Whether it was the deep ball or quick screens with speed bursts, Randy racked up huge numbers year after year in Minnesota. In 2003, he caught 111 balls for 1632 yards and 17 touchdowns. That put him at an average per game of 102. His long on the year was a 72 yard reception against Detroit in week 3.
Daunte Culpepper was well aware of the advantage he had with Randy Moss split out to either side. “Having someone like Randy in a game-breaking moment is a tremendous advantage.” he said.
It was a crazy year, as the Vikings started 6-0, only to lose 7 of their last 10 games. The wheels came off for the team, but not for Moss, who consistently torched corners and safeties all year long.
"Game of the Year: In a week 4 blowout against the 49ers, Randy set the Metrodome on fire with 8 receptions for 172 yards and three touchdowns."
Here’s a video of Randy Moss doing Randy Moss things with Culpepper.
