Top 6 Stat-Stuffing Seasons in Vikings History
By Nick Fritz
#1: 2004 Daunte Culpepper
There have been several elite passing seasons in Minnesota Vikings history, but one stands out at the top with no doubts. In 2004, Daunte Culpepper passed for 4717 yards, 39 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. That’s 455 yards and 5 touchdowns more than any other Vikings QB has passed for, In a down year for Randy Moss, who had only 767 receiving yards, Daunte spread the wealth around. Six players had over 350 receiving yards. Nate Burleson led the way with 1006 yards on 102 receptions.
Culpepper wasn’t just a passer, he also rushed for 406 yards and 2 touchdowns. In week 13 against Chicago, he rushed for 50 yards on 6 attempts.
It was hard to pick a winner with so many dominant performances. But with three 5 touchdown games and five 350+ passing yard games, Daunte Culpepper had the most prolific statistical season in Vikings history.
"Game of the Year: In a week 5 victory against Houston, Culpepper threw for 396 yards, 5 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. He also scrambled for 30 yards."
Alas, here are the best highlights I could find vintage 2004 Daunte Culpepper. Enjoy!
