#2: Teddy Bridgewater
What more can I say that hasn’t already been said about Teddy Bridgewater? He’s a beacon of light in the dark doldrums of the Vikings recent quarterbacking history. Since making his debut, Bridgewater has had his ups and downs. But three things remained constant: his work ethic, attitude and leadership.
The theme of the 2014 season seemed to be adversity and Teddy dealt with his share as well. Most of it came in the middle of the season, when he struggled with accuracy on deep throws. With time, the deep ball improved and he finished with the 10th highest completion percentage among quarterbacks on throws over 20 yards (according to PFF). Over the last 5 games, Tomo Romo (117.1) was the only player with a higher QB rating than Bridgewater (103.0).
Over that same stretch, no QB had a higher completion percentage (72.1)
The future of the Minnesota Vikings is looking much brighter than it did last New Years Day.
GAME OF THE YEAR: Bridgwater checked into the game-winning play in week 14 against the Jets, an 81-yard quick screen to Jarius Wright. He also completed 19-27 passes for 307 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception.
