My Five Favorite Vikings of All-Time

3. John Randle
John Randle was known for many things: Covering most of his face in eye black. Barking like a dog after a sack. Chasing a chicken that was wearing a Brett Favre Packers jersey for a Fox commercial. Being one of the most intense players in the NFL at the time. Mostly though, he was known as a legendary defensive tackle.
Randle spent most of his career dominating the center of the line for the Vikings, although he occasionally played at defensive end. Perhaps the most incredible part of his journey was the fact that he was not even selected in the NFL Draft, instead being picked up as a free agent by the Vikings in 1990. Year after year, he tallied double digit sacks, and along with Henry Thomas and Chris Doleman, was part of a defensive line that helped the Vikings defense consistently find themselves in the top 10 of the NFL in the early 1990s under defensive coordinator Tony Dungy.
Much like everyone on this list, he had a stint with another team, finishing his career with the Seattle Seahawks. Still, he will always be a Viking, and now finds himself in both the Vikings Ring of Honor as well as the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
