Will the Minnesota Vikings sign Duron Carter?

With the Vikings off-season officially under way, waves of rumors have flown around the past couple days about Duron Carter possibly signing with the Minnesota Vikings. Carter, the son of former Vikings great Cris Carter, is currently in the Canadian Football League and is looking to play in the NFL. Thus far, Carter is believed to have interest from Kansas City, Tampa Bay, Indianapolis, San Francisco, Cleveland, and Minnesota. He is believed to have already met with Kansas City and Indianapolis, both of whom he remains interested in. However, the Vikings and Indianapolis Colts, according to Matt Miller of Bleacher Report, are the front-runners to sign the 6’5, 210 lb 23-year-old wide receiver.

It’s not certain if a deal will get done between Carter and the Vikings, but he will be visiting with Minnesota today along with a workout tomorrow. If all goes well, according to Vikings Territory, the Vikings will give Carter an offer in hopes of signing him.

In case you forgot, Carter spent mini-camp with the Vikings in the spring of 2013 but did not make the team and decided to sign with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League. Though he did not make Leslie Frazier’s 2013 Minnesota Vikings, it looks as if Carter is a hot commodity among the NFL market and his ties to the Vikings along with their need at wide receiver would be a great for both. Carter, as opposed to the Colts, could be an immediate help for a vikings wide receiving corps that certainly is missing a number one wide receiver. Let’s hope that the Vikings don’t make the same mistake twice and let him slip away again, as they could use a wide receiver of Duron Carter’s talent.
