Need Time to Grow

The Wolves are tied with the New Orleans Pelicans as the fourth youngest team in the NBA, with an average age of 24.9 at the beginning of the season. Even that figure is skewed by players like Martin, Ronny Turiaf and Mo Williams being on the roster. The core of this team’s roster, and their future, is very young. The good news is that Wiggins and Muhammad have both been making strides as their roles have grown in the last several weeks. Still, really young teams simply do not win this early on.

No one knows yet how good Wiggins, Muhammad, LaVine or even Rubio will end up being. The best thing that can happen for this team is to have Flip Saunders to keep playing these guys, let them take their lumps and learn how to win together. It will be a painstaking process, but playoff teams are not built in a day, so unfortunately patience will be necessary with this franchise yet again.
