Nail Their Draft Pick
The Wolves history of draft picks is, um, less than illustrious. That doesn’t mean that the trend needs to continue. David Kahn had two major failings as the main decision-maker in Minnesota; He blew far too many draft picks (particularly passing on Steph Curry to take Jonny Flynn) and his aforementioned bumbling of the Kevin Love decision. He is out of town, so the onus falls on Flip Saunders to make better decisions. The Wolves horrific record will mean another good draft pick this spring. Nick already looked at what that may mean for the team. Considering how difficult it is to lure top-flight free agents to Minnesota, it would be an enormous boon to find a star in the draft to join Rubio and Wiggins.
Things are really bad for the Wolves right now, but they don’t have to be forever.
