Polanco is the true underdog as far as prospects are concerned. There is a lot to like in this kid, as he does a little bit of everything. He is a true gamer, and it surprises me that he hasn’t cracked very many top 100 lists thus far. He has a very good bat, as he has the instincts, mechanics, and a solid swing that should make him a starting major leaguer alone. Furthermore, he possesses a strong glove, with great range and a solid arm that will play well at shortstop. He has committed his fair share of errors in the minors, and mostly because of throwing errors, but there is no question that with a little time and grooming that Polanco can be a very good defensive shortstop with a good bat and a little speed on the side.
