Stewart was the 4th overall in the 2013 draft, and he didn’t take long to impress. Considered to be one of the better arms in all of baseball, many considered Stewart to be more of a thrower than a pitcher coming out of high school. However, in 2014, Stewart quickly put that belief to rest. Stewart showed command of the strike zone while still being able to attack hitters with his plus fastball. He may not have struck out as many as people would have expected, but the belief is that Stewart’™s velocity and pitching arsenal will only improve and he will be able to finish off batters with strikeouts. Stewart’™s stuff is still very raw, but it was nice to see him excel right from the get-go. Stewart will look to improve his pitching arsenal with a fastball, curveball, change-up, and slider.
