Watch: No-Look Ricky Rubio Pass leads to Ridiculous Anthony Bennett Dunk

Since Ricky Rubio returned to the lineup a game ago, the Minnesota Timberwolves don’t even seem like the same team we’ve watched over the last few months. They’re faster, more aggressive, and score a heck of a lot easier.

In the second quarter of Wednesday night’s contest between the Wolves and the Heat, Rubio gave us a stark reminder of what we’ve been missing. Rushing down the court with Anthony Bennett, Zach Lavine and Thaddeus Young, Ricky had options. He chose Bennett and found the highlight real. Here’s the play:

In his first game back since a 3-month ankle injury on November 7th, Rubio and the Timberwolves were mounting a come-back in Dallas. As much as we would have loved to see if they could pull it out, Flip Saunders had to go the route of caution. He pulled Rubio with about five minutes remaining, much to the chagrin of the 24-year-old Spanish star.

“I was dying. It was something super painful,” said Rubio about the feeling of being pulled, not his physical condition. “When you’re out there, you don’t think about it. I was feeling that I was in control of the game, and I was thinking already of the couple next plays. It was something that the doctor had something to say, and I can’t fight against that.”

With 33 games remaining, there is plenty of time for the Wolves to build momentum into next year. However, for you draft watchers out there, your fears are likely going to come true. They’re just not a lottery team with Rubio, Martin and Pekovic in the line up and it looks like they are going to win a handful of games down the stretch.

But with plays like this and actual excitement in the air, I’ll take it.

“God that’s beautiful”: Watch as Ricky Rubio completely amazes the Dallas Mavericks commentators with a bounce pass that just doesn’t seem possible.
