Pittsburgh’s secondary is in major turmoil and is getting older. Johnson fits Pittsburgh’s scheme, and he will be able to get immediate playing time with the miserable seasons that Cortez Allen & Ike Taylor have turned in. Johnson may be a reach at this spot, but Steelers are filling an absolute need. It’s so bad, they might need to get another coverage guy in the 2nd round.
23. Detroit Lions
Danny Shelton, DT, Washington
Shelton possesses unique ability in that he can pass rush and also stop the running game. Many would ask why the lions would need a DT with the best front line in football, but the answer is easy: Ndamukong Suh & Nick Fairley are both free agents. They need to replace these guys and keep that strong pass rush.
24. Arizona Cardinals
Melvin Gordon, RB, Wisconsin
Gordon could very well be the next Jamal Charles, and the Cardinals have a struggling rushing attack that could use some help. The Cardinals are a fantastic team with a great defense. However, they need some help on offense with their starting QB out for quite some time (Carson Palmer) and a stagnant running game. Gordon will help their cause.
