He represents the glory days of Timberwolves basketball. And he’s back.
On Thursday, Kevin Garnett agreed to drop his no-trade clause and move from the Brooklyn Nets to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Thaddeus Young.

Can we expect to see performances like the one above eleven years later, now in his 20th season? Absolutely not. But it doesn’t change the fact that the man who once captivated the Minnesota basketball scene has made his return.
It could be argued that Garnett is really the only bright spot in the history of a franchise that has struggled mightily for the majority of its existence. The Wolves have never made it to the playoffs without Kevin Garnett on the roster.
For performances like the one you just watched, he was awarded the 2004 MVP. The Timberwolves beat the Kings in this game, then went on to lose in the conference finals to the Lakers in 6. It was the most glory we Wolves fans have ever felt.
Hopefully the big man will pass his winning ways on to Andrew Wiggins. But in the meantime, it’s just nice to have the Big-Ticket back!
