The Minnesota Timberwolves technically played an NBA game tonight against the Brooklyn Nets. They lost on their home floor 122-106. The team was very depleted once again: Ricky Rubio, Kevin Garnett, Gary Neal and Nikola Pekovic were all out with injuries. Also inactive were Robbie Hummel, Anthony Bennett and of course Shabazz Muhammad.

Considering the circumstances it would have been hard to expect much from the Wolves tonight. Still, the games must be played. I suppose tonight’s game was but it was a predictably ugly affair.

Instead of dwelling on another lost game as we count the grains of sand towards Andrew Wiggins officially being awarded his Rookie of the Year trophy and the Draft Lottery, I think we should look at the bright side. Well, not bright actually. The funny side. Let’s look at some of the best Wolves related tweets of the night.

First, @cjzero with a throwback to a truly hilarious moment from earlier this season after a game where the Wolves beat the Nets:

Seriously, I could watch that Vine all day. Rubio’s reaction time is not only fast when going for a steal or dishing an assist. Really, Ricky is right on this one. The way this season turned out, it is feasible to distinctly remember each win if you try hard enough. Therefore, it is doubtful that the Wolves forgot about that win right away, or anytime since. Hopefully soon November wins will be forgettable but it is simply not the case this season.

There was a scoreboard malfunction that added a bit of levity towards the end of the proceedings (from @PDWolves and @HoosierWolves):

This wasn’t one of the funniest tweets but to give you an idea of my night, I was busy earlier and when I finally had the chance to watch the game I decided the better of it (via our @SportingSota account):

Finally, the Timberwolves official account fired off some of the best tweets of the night. First, once the game was completely out of hand…

…then once it was all mercifully over:

The good news is, as @BeeHeintzSKOL pointed out, it could always be worse:

"So… The Wolves got worked tonight but Charlotte down 81-41?"

One of these games, there will be reason again for actual thoughts and analysis. Tonight though, I think that will do.
