Other than the Adrian Peterson fiasco, Mike Zimmer’s first season as Head Coach of the Minnesota Vikings is looked at in mostly positive ways. The team looks like they have found the franchise quarterback they have been searching for years for in Teddy Bridgewater. Everson Griffen was given a big paycheck last off-season and delivered, racking up 12 sacks. Charles Johnson was on the Cleveland Browns practice squad to start the season but finished it, as Norv Turner has said, as the Vikings’ best receiver. The team even managed to get solid production out of its running backs despite only having the services of Peterson for the opening game. So there is a lot to be excited about.
Still, in a vacuum the team went 7-9 and missed the playoffs. Today, I will take a look at four Vikings in particular that struggled for various reasons in 2014 and have something to prove in 2015.
