Aaron Hicks is playing for his baseball life in 2015. He has all of the physical tools: Good speed, a good glove and arm, can hit for power. A lot was expected out of Hicks. The problem is that he has not been able to translate all of those tools into tangible baseball assets nearly enough so far in his career.

He was named the Twins’ Opening Day center fielder to start the 2013 season and despite some outstanding plays with his glove, he got demoted to AAA in August because of his bat. Hicks only hit .192 at the Major League Level that season. The 2014 season was much the same for Hicks. He started the season in center field for the Twins, only to get demoted again. He has bounced between the Majors and AAA, hitting for a .201 average against Major League pitching. At one point, the switch hitter even gave up switch hitting.

At one point, Hicks was the top prospect in the Twins’ farm system; At this point, the folks in Twins Territory just hope he can turn himself into a serviceable outfielder. If not this season, then when?
