New Home Uniforms
Okay, so this part may not be as important as the rest but I still wanted to touch on it. A sports team’s uniform is one of the main ways they are defined. The Twins have had the same general look at home since the mid-1980s and won both of their World Series in the white pinstriped jerseys with red “Twins” lettering, so it is a change.
Without having seen them in action much yet, I think I like them. The navy blue on the plain white background pops nicely. The gold accents have been derided by some, but I actually like them. I feel like it helps the dark blue against the white. The new caps are cool too. I already have 3198746 Twins caps, as my fiance Katy could attest, but now I know what my next one will be.
To me, the old uniforms started to feel a little bit dated, so I am cool with a fresh start. What will really be important though is that the Twins are able to find as much success in the new get-ups as they did in their old ones.
