As the 2015 offseason progresses, we’ve seen Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman begin to address some of the weaknesses on the roster. After a 2014 season that provided plenty of hope for the future, Spielman knows that he may be just a few roster moves away from creating a contender.

After adding players like safety Taylor Mays, veteran cornerback Terence Newman, and linebacker Casey Matthews on the defensive side, it appears as if cornerback is emerging as a position for the Vikings to look at in the NFL Draft. The 36-year-old former Cincinnati Bengal Newman will be able to help the younger cornerbacks on the roster develop, and drafting a stud cornerback in the first round makes sense.

Offensively, Spielman’s notable acquisitions are trading for wide receiver Mike Wallace and signing Polish offensive tackle Babatunde Aiyegbusi. Wallace provides quarterback Teddy Bridgewater with a true deep threat while Aiyegbusi’s absolutely colossal 6-foot-9, 351 pound frame should at the least provide the Vikings offensive line with some depth.

As the start of the 2015 NFL season gradually approaches, let’s take a look at the key ingredients to a winning recipe for the Vikings in 2015. Regardless of how Spielman fills the rest of the possible voids on the Vikings roster this offseason, these things will have to happen for the Vikings to have success.
