St. Paul Saints Are Really, Really Good

I’ll start this off with a disclaimer: I might be biased.

Not overly biased, but a lot would have to go wrong for me to ever hate the St. Paul Saints, but that’s probably true for us all. You can’t hate the lovable Saints.

My first exposure to the Saints was quite the exposure. At my first ever Saints game, I got to walk the pig. Yes, I got to be that kid that walked to home plate with a pig. I was incredibly nervous, but I don’t think the piglet really could tell.

Somewhere down the line it was brought to be attention that Bill bleepin’ Murray is a part-owner of the ball club. I’m not going to explain Bill Murray to anyone, because, one, he is unexplainable and, two, you know him and you know exactly why I made his middle name bleepin’.

Just like the Saints, you cannot hate Bill Murray and if you do, well, you are un-American.

Between Murray, being lovable, a new ballpark and promotions unlike any other team in the world, the St. Paul Saints really don’t need anything else, but if you need another reason, I can give it to you: the Saints are really bleepin’ good.

The Saints have played 41 games and they have lost nine. Yes, the Saints are currently 32-9 and 14 games ahead of the second place Sioux Falls Canaries in the North Division of the Independent League.

It’s exactly like the Minnesota Twins’ month of May, except for the fact that the Saints have been doing this for basically two months’ time now.

Minnesota sports are coming around. Things are looking up across the four major sports, but don’t forget about the ones who are already doing great. I preach and preach that we shouldn’t forget about the Minnesota Lynx, but we shouldn’t forget about the St. Paul Saints either.

They are the reason that Bill Murray is in town from time to time and that alone is worth all the praise in the world.
