Minnesota Twins: Brian Dozier Doesn’t Win Final Vote, Finishes Second

Well, shoot, it didn’t work. The Kansas City Royals Mike Moustakas is going to the All-Star Game as the winner of the Final Vote. Yes, our valiant effort to get Brian Dozier to the All-Star Game has failed as Dozier placed in second.

Moustakas got a lot of votes:

Six Royals are already on the All-Star roster, Alex Gordon will not be playing due to injury, but that’s still a lot of Royals. The Royals are 5.5 games ahead of the Twins going into play on Friday night, but the Twins only get one All-Star representative in perfect closer Glen Perkins.

Dozier’s only shot now to make the roster is for an injury to happen in the last couple days of first half play and even then it’s no guarantee. Dozier seems to be the largest All-Star snub, but the All-Star Game never really can go to plan.

On the National League side, Carlos Martinez of the St. Louis Cardinals reigned victorious which means the partnership of the New York Mets and the Twins didn’t work on either side. Jeurys Familia was up for the Mets.

It will not be a Final Vote to be forgotten with poetry and memes and a whole lot of tweets, especially in the last hour.

It’s a shame that Brian Dozier won’t be going to the All-Star Game, but sometimes you just can’t beat the computer hackers that are also fans of the Kansas City Royals.
