Minnesota Twins Rumors: Carlos Gomez Still Available, Still Might Be Traded

Okay, so the Carlos Gomez thing got way out of hand. On Wednesday, it was reported the Gomez was traded to the New York Mets, but that was quickly denied by the Mets GM. It then came out that the deal was in place, but was walked out on due to health concerns.
Who’s health concerns? Well, that depends on who you ask.
The #Brewers rejected the #Mets trade because of concerns over Wheeler"s physical and still plan to trade Gomez by Friday.

The failed physical it turns out belongs to #Brewers CF Gomez (hips) despite playing all but one game for last month, per @Ken_Rosenthal

So there’s two stories right there, but that’s not all. Super-agent Scott Boras needed to be heard from:
Scott Boras: “Carlos Gomez has never seen a hip doctor and has never had a hip issue in his playing career. Anyone who suggests that is …

…inaccurate and baldly misrepresenting the truth of the player’s condition.”

Which seems to be truly false, because MLB.com relayed to us a while ago that Gomez had an MRI on his hip to make sure the soreness was not structural damage. So maybe it wasn’t a ‘hip doctor’, but there seems to be a flag about Gomez’s hip no matter which way you cut it.

Why do Minnesota Twins fans care? Carlos Gomez could still be traded and somewhere in this mess, Bob Nightengale of USA Today said that Gomez is still likely to be traded by Friday.
We’ve talked about Gomez coming to the Twins before, but it is a situation worth keeping our eyes on, because this might just be the most interesting trade situation that I have ever seen.
The possibility of Gomez coming back to the Twins came about a month ago now and didn’t grab a whole lot of traction, but a whole lot of crazier things have happened in Twins land. The Twins need to go get some pitching, but why not dream a little bit about Go-Go.
