Minnesota Lynx: Maya Moore Wins Western Conference Player of Month Award

No need to sit down because this news is not shocking to any extent. The Minnesota Lynx’s star player Maya Moore has been named the Western Conference Player of the Month, because she’s the best darn basketball player on this marble we call Earth.

Moore has now won six of the last eight Player of the Month awards. It’s getting in the ridiculous category.  In a few years they will have to rename the award the ‘Maya Moore Player of the Month Award’, because she just owns it.

The Lynx sent out a press release for Moore’s winning and everything just proves why Moore should be put in the Basketball Hall of Fame right now:

"Moore averaged 25.8 ppg, 8.8 rpg and 4.1 apg in nine games in July, shooting 41.9% from beyond the arc while leading the league in three-pointers made with 26. Her month started off with a 23-point performance in a win over Seattle on July 3, as well as a 29-point performance in Chicago on July 10 – 25 of those points coming in the second half of the game. Moore was named Most Valuable Player of the 2015 WNBA All-Star Game on July 25 after pouring in an All-Star Game-record 30 points with six rebounds and five assists in the West’s 117-112 victory. Moore has scored 20+ points in each of her past 11 contests, tying Cynthia Cooper for the second-longest such streak in WNBA history."

You couldn’t have a better month. Only maybe being a Beatle in the mid-‘60’s could have felt better than what Moore is feeling  right now.

Next: Maya is beyond awesome!
