Minnesota Vikings: Adrian Peterson Off Probation Really, Really Early

I’m not a lawyer and I don’t pretend to be. I did love Boston Legal and I was all-in on Suits for a while, but that’s about all I know about being a real lawyer and in Suits one of the main characters isn’t even legally a lawyer, so I really have no business talking law… but probations seem to be kind of sketchy.

That potential sketchiness is a good thing for the Minnesota Vikings and their star running back Adrian Peterson. Peterson is off probation really early, serving only nine months of an original two-year sentence.

Apparently if you serve one-third of your probation you can apply for early termination and that’s exactly what Peterson’s attorney Rusty Hardin did according to the Star Tribune.

The judge signed off on it, but now the Montgomery Country District Attorney Brett Ligon does not exactly agree with the judge’s ruling. Ligon points to the fact that Peterson has not completed a public service announcement he was supposed to make regarding child disciple for his probation as exhibit a of his now fairly useless case.

Quick note as a radio guy, someone can email Peterson a script and have him record the PSA on his phone. It’s really not that complicated of a process in good ol’ 2015.

Why is the district attorney’s case now pretty useless? Well, according to Hardin the county had a 48-hour window of time to object to the judge’s ruling, but did not.

Even the lawsuits in the NFL are turning into Real Housewives episodes with less slapping… so far.

It looks right now that Peterson can now focus on football and shaking his head at the Vikings for making him the face of ‘Family Day’ at Training Camp, but that’s a whole separate rant.

Next: Adrian is ahead of everybody!
