Mike Tomlin

Tomlin is the third youngest head coach across the four major sports in America and in an alternate universe he’s probably at the helm for the Minnesota Vikings. Tomlin was the Defensive Coordinator for the Vikings in 2006 before being hired away by the Steelers to replace longtime coach Bill Cowher.

Since then Tomlin has been to two AFC Championship Games and won the Super Bowl during the 2008 season, so he’s had a pretty nice career after leaving the Purple for the Black and Yellow.

It’s not that Mike Zimmer is a bad coach, I think he’s the right man for the job, but there is no denying that Tomlin’s past with the Vikings will be mentioned sometime during the broadcast which will make us dream about what could have been if Brad Childress was instead Mike Tomlin or if Leslie Frazier was Mike Tomlin… or just Mike Tomlin being an awesome guy.
