Minnesota Vikings: Adrian Peterson Limps Off Field, But Looks To Be Fine

There is one thing that teams hope and pray doesn’t happen to their players during training camp and they really, really hope it doesn’t happen to their star players, but it happen to the Minnesota Vikings and their star running back Adrian Peterson.

During Tuesday’s practice the running back reportedly hit the ground during a drill and was slow to get up. According to 1500ESPN, Peterson limped to the sidelines and tested the leg by jogging in place before going back into the drills for one play and then leaving the field under his own power with athletic trainer Eric Sugarman.

Reports say that Sugarman would return to the field, but Peterson did not.

It does not look like this is too serious of a situation though. This from Star Tribune reporter Matt Vensel:

1500ESPN also had a quote from backup running back and one of Peterson’s main fill-in’s from a season ago, Jerick McKinnon about the situation, “”Got tangled up, a defender fell on him, but he said he’s all right. Everybody knows Adrian has a cape on. He’ll be back out here tomorrow.”

The Vikings are currently one of the hottest picks across the NFL to do some special this year and that’s for a multitude of reasons one of the main ones being that Adrian Peterson is back and expected to play more than one game this season.

Peterson doesn’t need a whole lot of training camp to get revved up, but being one of the guys that doesn’t appear at all in the preseason games, the snaps in practice might be a little more important. There is five weeks until a real game, so no matter what, Peterson should be fine.
