Blair’s Wishy-Washy Project

Kinda like the whole Patterson situation, if you can’t do your job in the NFL, there’s going to be a problem. Blair Walsh didn’t really give the Vikings a whole lot of reasons to be confident in their kicker during the preseason this season. Unlike most positions on the field during preseason, it’s pretty hard to half-ass kick.

It simply was not pretty kicking from Walsh. He couldn’t consistently hit from spots he’s hit consistently from before in his NFL career. It would be a shame to give up on Walsh since he’s still quite young, but if he misses a couple field goals in the opener against San Francisco, a conversation will be had if Walsh deserves to keep his job.

Walsh will be kicking for his job this week and for the foreseeable weeks after.
