Minnesota Twins: Hunter and Gibson shine in Twins shutout victory
Torii Hunter has found the fountain of youth in Chicago. The veteran contributed another four RBIs on Sunday afternoon as the Twins defeated the White Sox by a score of 7-0.
Not only was Hunter impressive, but Kyle Gibson threw a great game for the Twins. Gibson went 7.2 innings and only allowed five hits and one walk in his outing. On the other side of the coin, the Twins once again had White Sox ace Chris Sale all figured out. Sale only lasted three innings and gave up six runs on nine hits in his outing.
It was a lot of manufactured runs for the Twins. Four scoring plays out of five for the Twins were all on RBI singles. The non-single was a three-run homer that Hunter hit in the top of the first to give the Twins a 4-0 lead, following a Miguel Sano RBI single.

The home run for Hunter was his 350th of his career.
Hunter hit an RBI single himself in the third and so did Rosario in the inning. Mauer hit one in the sixth to conclude the scoring for Minnesota.
Kurt Suzuki was the only Twins starter to not register a hit. Rosario lead the way with three hits. Brian Dozier, Sano, Trevor Plouffe, Hunter and Eduardo Escobar all notched two hits on Sunday afternoon.
The win helps the Twins keep pace in the American League Wild Card chase. The Texas Rangers won big at Oakland keeping the Twins out of the second slot by a game.
The Twins now head home for a 10-game home stand. That kicks off on Monday night with a series with the last place Detroit Tigers.
