The Minnesota Vikings we expected to see on Monday night showed up on Sunday afternoon against the Detroit Lions. The Vikings played a much better game on Sunday and nicely won 26-16.

Everything looked a lot better for Minnesota in Week 2. Teddy Bridgewater went 14/18 for 153 yards and a TD in the air and one on the ground. Maybe even more apparently, Adrian Peterson started to look like the old Peterson. Peterson got 29 carries and ran for 134 yards.

He looked like the really old AP, too, in a not so good way. Peterson also fumbled the ball three times throughout the course of the ballgame, but he did only lose one.

Kyle Rudolph got going on Sunday. Rudolph caught five balls for 30 yards and a touchdown. Mike Wallace and Charles Johnson both had three grabs. Peterson had a pair of catches for a total of 58 yards including a 49 yarder in another nice game for him in the passing game.

The Vikings scored two touchdowns on the ground, but neither came from Peterson. Bridgewater scampered in for one and also Zach Line scored on a goal line plunge on his one and only carry in the game.

In a game full of positives for Minnesota, we must mention a negative for the purple. Again, the kicker. Blair Walsh hit both of his field goal attempts, with a long of 28, but Walsh did miss an extra point attempt. Sure, they are tougher to make this season, but you got one job, Blair.

The Vikings now stand at a record of 1-1. The Lions drop to 0-2.

Next week the San Diego Chargers come into town. The last time the Chargers were in Minneapolis, Peterson ran for 296 yards.
