Back To The Future Day celebrated by Minnesota sports teams
Today, October 21, 2015, is Back To The Future Day. It is the day in Back To The Future II where Marty McFly and Doc Brown go to in the future. As you’ve probably seen by now, the Chicago Cubs are supposed to win the World Series, which doesn’t look good right now, but our Minnesota sports teams are getting in the futuristic spirit on Twitter today.
First let’s check in with the Minnesota Twins. A certain Twin kind of had a cameo in the series and cameo is kind of a stretch. On the cover of ‘Grays Sports Almanac: Complete Sports Statistics – 1950-2000’ there is a guy that looks a whole lot like the one and only Kirby Puckett. The Minnesota Twins agree.
The others on the cover appear to be Wayne Gretzky, Webster Slaughter and Ickey Woods according to ESPN’s Twitter wonderboy Darren Rovell.
While the Twins had a good reason to go back and revisit the 80’s hit, the Minnesota Vikings didn’t really have a reason, but that didn’t stop them from going all in on Twitter.
They claimed that Head Coach Mike Zimmer drove a DeLorean to work today. I know I would if I could for today.
Heck, the team is making their own remake of the film. A Rick Spielman, instead of Steven Spielberg film, starring the talented Anthony Barr instead of the very talented Michael J. Fox.
Trae Waynes is in the spirit!
If you are still craving more Back To The Future, here’s some great tunes from Huey Lewis and The News.
Now I am off to the movie theater to watch all three Back To The Future movies. Enjoy your Back To The Future Day and please hoverboard responsibly!
