Megatron’s mega-game
I know no one wants to hear about anybody else’s fantasy team, but I have Calvin Johnson on mine and I’ve noticed that until last week that Johnson hasn’t had an overly outstanding season.
His numbers weren’t anything to really complain about the first five weeks of the season, but they weren’t quite Megatron numbers either. Last week against the Chicago Bears, Johnson went full Megatron for the Lions. Johnson had nine catches for 166 yards (that’s an average of 27.7 yards per catch) and a touchdown. That’s pretty darn good.
Johnson’s still only 30-years-old and the Lions offense lives and dies by Stafford being able to throw the ball up to the 6-5 wide out from Georgia Tech. The Vikings secondary has looked much improved this season, but even the best defenders have a hard time defending Johnson. It’ll be interesting to see what Johnson does for an encore after his wonderful performance in the Lions’ first victory of the season last Sunday.
