Zach LaVine

This was supposed to be the year. Sam Mitchell before a preseason game had occurred named LaVine the starting shooting guard for the Wolves. He looked good in Summer League and was crescendo-ing into what looked to be a breakout year.

LaVine struggled in the preseason. He did not look good. He didn’t start all of the preseason games this year. The last game had Wiggins move down to shooting guard and Tayshaun Prince, 35-year-old Prince, at the small forward and starting. That’s how hard LaVine fell this preseason.

The good news is that like a majority of the Wolves roster, LaVine is still very, very young. LaVine is still only 20-years-old and there is time to figure out what his game is and what it should be in the NBA. He’s got the skills and the talent to be a pretty good player in the NBA. We’ll just have to sit back and watch to see how LaVine responds to this early adversity this season.
