Minnesota Vikings: Week 11 battle vs. Green Bay flexed to 3:25 PM
According to Vikings.com, the NFL announced Monday afternoon that the Week 11 matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and the Green Bay Packers at TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis has been moved from a 12:00 PM CST kickoff to a 3:25 PM CST kickoff.
The NFL uses a system of “flexible scheduling” for weeks 11-17 of the regular season that allows higher quality matchups to be spread throughout all of the NFL Sunday time slots in those weeks. It also gives teams a chance to earn a primetime game on NBC’s Sunday Night Football or to move into the late-afternoon slot of 3:25 PM CST on CBS or FOX.

In other words, the Vikings-Packers dual scheduled for Week 11 is already being viewed as a key matchup in the NFC playoff picture by the NFL. It will likely be chosen as FOX’s “America’s Game of the Week” and there’s also a good chance that Joe Buck and Troy Aikman will be on the call for the game. I’ll leave my thoughts on Joe Buck out of this post.
Through Week 8, the Vikings (5-2) are currently just one game behind the Packers (6-1) for the NFC North division lead. Before taking on Green Bay in Week 11, the Vikings host the St. Louis Rams this week and travel to the Bay Area to meet the Oakland Raiders. The Packers’ next two opponents before the Week 11 contest are the Carolina Panthers (away) and the Detroit Lions (home).
