The Minnesota Twins are reportedly trying to trade Ricky Nolasco, who was once a big free agent signing for the club.

The prayers of Minnesota Twins might be in the process of being answered. It is being reported that at the winter meetings in Nashville, the Twins are trying to find a trade partner to get Ricky Nolasco off their hands.

The Twins signed Nolasco before the 2014 season and it has been pretty much a disaster ever since. Nolasco was signed to be a consistent arm in the rotation for years to come and that has not come close to true. Nolaso has had trouble staying healthy and when healthy he hasn’t exactly had the best statistics in a Twins uniform.

In two seasons with Minnesota, Nolasco has made 35 starts and currently has an ERA of 5.64 in only 196 innings. Nolasco only logged 37 innings last season for the Twins.

Nolasco’s contract has him under team control for the next two seasons with a team option for 2018. The option year would pay Nolasco $13 million and the buyout would be a million dollars. The next two seasons will pay Nolasco $12 million each season.

It would make sense for a National League team in the San Diego Padres to be intrigued with Nolasco. These past two seasons were the first two that Nolasco had played in the American League. Nolasco pitched in eight seasons in the National League mostly with the Flordia/Miami Marlins. Nolasco also pitched a half-season with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
